    Dog House Hotel in Abingdon was originally built to be used as kennels and stables by the wealthy farming gentry, hence the name. It is now a 20-bedroom country inn. With a meeting room for up to thirty people and a license to host the ceremony, this hotel is able to accommodate traditional English weddings.     The food served at the Oak Beamed Restaurant has been praised by guests for being remarkably tasty for an excellent value. The service and selection is a good deal at a great price for most guests.

    The Dog House has the capacity to host small weddings, so that makes it a prime location for a traditional English country wedding. Also, with its close proximity to Oxford, the hotel is a good stop for guests who wish to stay close enough for access, but

    The twenty available bedrooms are fairly large, and they are kept clean and comfortable. Keep in mind it is a country inn with a cottage feel.

    Guests have complained that the rooms, bathrooms and especially the corridor are a bit tired as far as upkeep is concerned. While the spaces are kept clean, the décor is dated and in desperate need of updating.
