The New York New York Roller Coaster is an attraction at the hotel of the same name in Las Vegas. It “simulates a jet fighter’s barrel roll” with rises and plunges of 150 – 200 feet and reaching a speed of 67mph. After the loops and dives, the ride straightens out to run across the roof of the casino. Opened in 1997 and originally called the Manhattan Express, it continues the New York theme by having the cars coloured yellow and black to resemble New York taxis, and the station is fitted out like a New York subway station. Tickets can be purchased for individual rides or there is an all day pass. Photos can be taken of visitors on the ride and wedding ceremonies can be arranged to take place while riding the coaster. Operating hours are Sunday to Thursday 11am - 11pm, Friday and Saturday 10.3m – midnight. Visitors must be taller than 4’ 6” (137 cm).
