    Marché aux Fleurs (Paris, France)

The Marché aux Fleurs, or Flower Market, is one of the last of its kind. It is situated near the River Seine in the heart of Paris, just a few blocks away from the cathedral of Notre Dame, on the Place Louis Lépine. The market, which first appeared in 1808 is open from dawn to dusk everyday from 8am to 7pm. It’ll take you about an hour to get around it, if you don’t stop to buy or chat. There is of course a large variety of different plants and cut flowers, some of which are rare. On Sundays, the flower market is replaced by a caged bird market for the pleasure of your ears and eyes. The nearest RER train stop is St. Michel and many buses stop near by. The market is outdoors and therefore depends on the weather of the day.
