    East Gate (Warwick, United Kingdom)

The East Gate in Warwick, together with its counterpart the West Gate, are the only remaining parts of Warwick’s town wall. The medieval gates are each situated at one end of the High Street and have been part of the defensive system of the town since the 12th century. The East Gate is a Grade-II listed property and features a small chapel dedicated to St Peter on it’s top which was added to it during the 15th century. The last recent use of the building’s interior was as class rooms for the adjacent girl’s school. Due to the state of neglect of the property and the high costs for its restoration the gate has been sold recently and is now owned privately, thus not accessible to the public.
