    The old city hall, which dated back to 1905, was destroyed during bomb attacks in 1944 but its two wings could be saved and were integrated into the new building that was constructed from 1953-56 according to plans of the renowned architects Paul Schmohl and Paul Storer. Centerpiece of the building is the 60.5 m high clock tower. Daily at 11.06, 12.06, 14.36 and 18.36 visitors can listen to the chimes of the 30 bells which play Swabian folk songs.
