    Black Rock Sands (also known as Morfa Bychan) is located at the north of Tremadog Bay near Porthmadog. A sandy beach, it has an area of dunes that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is an area suitable for swimming, windsurfing and boating, and there is a slipway. No lifeguards are in attendance. A picturesque region, it provides a habitat for a variety of birds and offers the opportunity for walks and birdwatching. At low tide there are caverns and rock pools to explore. There is a pub and a shop at Black Rock Sands in addition to a campsite, with other types of accommodation available at Porthmadog. There are parking facilities on the beach, and Porthmadog railway station is about 2.5 miles away. Dogs are allowed at either end of the beach but not in the middle.
