Located in the heart of Midtown, the Gotham is a uniquely styled boutique hotel in the middle of the NYC’s action. Loft inspired rooms feature bespoke décor and include free WiFi, flat-screen TV with on-demand entertainment, air-conditioning, minibar and exquisite bathrooms inclusive of complementary accessories. Each room opens to a terrace. This non-smoking hotel has a 24-hour front desk, Concierge, 24-hour business center and offers laundry, luggage storage and dry cleaning. Room service is also available. The on-site restaurant, the Tenpenny serves a tasty international menu, alternatively venture out and sample all that NYC has to offer with a plethora of dining options close by. The Gotham is just around the corner from 5th Avenue flagship stores such as Apple, Tiffany’s and Prada. The Rockefeller Centre and Times Square are 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Grand Central is four blocks from the hotel.
Many visitors to The Gotham hotel commented on its location as super central to the top sites of Midtown, but also close enough to Grand Central Station, which they used to explore the other parts of New York City such as the East Village, Lower East-Side and the Financial District.
Some guest reviewers remarked that it was nice to have a little terrace to expand the space of the room and relax and enjoy the New York skyline.
Guest reviewers made mention time and time again about the comfy beds and bedding used at the hotel, with many guests reporting a great nights sleep after a hard day spent exploring all that New York City has to offer.
Some guests had the unfortunate experience of a less than ideal check-in at the hotel. Previous guests expressed frustration that room keys would not immediately work or that on arrival their rooms were not ready in time. Some guests were kept waiting for the valet service which added to their delayed check-in.
Some previous guests felt that the professionalism of staff at the Gotham was below par and that some staff could do with a bit more training in hospitality, to perhaps deal with the demands of their job in a friendlier and more courteous way.
A number of guest reviewers did not rate the breakfast provided, with a number of past guests commenting that the selection of breakfast items was inadequate and of a poor quality.
