The staff service here was generally found to be of a good standard, creating a relaxed atmosphere in the inn, while dog owners were happy that their canine companions would be able to join them for the night. Guests overall found pleasant and clean rooms in a characterful stone building, and there were only a few reports of maintenance issues despite the age of the premises.

Those who stayed, or simply dropped by for a meal, said there was a wide range of options available for breakfast and dinner at the pub attached to The Rose & Crown, and the food was generally found to be good, coming in decent sized portions. Having said that, a small number of guests experienced what they said was overcooked fare.
