Situated in the town centre of Banbury, Fairlawns is a charming family run B&B that offers modern accommodation in a lovely Victorian property. The 18 rooms are tastefully decorated, and feature flat screen TV’s with freeview channels, work desks, tea/coffee stations, hairdryers and in-room safes. There is a lovely garden out back, where guests can relax in fine weather. Motorists will find ample free parking on-site. Breakfast consists of the full English, of course, but also includes options for vegetarians and others with different tastes. It is served between 7:00 and 9:00, but late risers can make separate arrangements with the hosts. The hotel is right opposite the Horton General Hospital, ideal for families visiting patients there. The Banbury Town Hall and the popular Castle Quay Shopping Centre are 1,000 yards’ away.
Often mentioned by guests, the B&B is relatively close to Banbury town centre - about 1,000 yards. Many guests found it convenient to walk into town, and the central Castle Quay Shopping Centre, for a bit of shopping or a bite to eat. They never felt they had to travel far to meet their needs.
The B&B is run by an extended family, and guests have almost nothing but good things to say about the way they carry out their duties. They are described as friendly and very helpful when it comes to giving advice and recommendations.
Many of the guests checking in at Fairlawns are business people visiting clients or suppliers in the area. They are very grateful that there is plenty of parking for them at the back of the B&B. It is one less ting to contend with during the day.
There are very few negative comments made about Fairlawns B&B. Perhaps the only one mentioned more than once or twice is that it is situated on a pretty busy road, with all that means in terms of noise and getting in and out during peak hours.
Another very rare complaint, but some guests do feel that the breakfast hours of 7:00 to 9:00 are too restrictive, especially at the weekends when many sleep in. While a breakfast of sorts can be left out for late risers this is a much more meagre affair than the real thing.
Like many other B&B's, the rooms are quirky and of different sizes, even if sold in the same “class”. So, while not a common compliant, the odd guest does compliant about an especially small room.
