positive:
Comfortable Rooms Overlooking the River.
Whether you're in Perth for a wedding or on business, you're bound to find this accommodation delightful. Guests found their rooms to be clean, spacious, and comfy, with some providing lovely views over the Tay.Others showcased beamed ceilings, an original feature of the historic building. Interestingly, the "Royal" in this hotel's title was added in honour of Queen Victoria, who was quite taken with the location herself when she stayed at the George in 1848.
positive:
Service With a Smile.
A stand-out feature of this hotel for so many was the warm and friendly service provided by the staff who seemed to go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and well looked after. No task or request seemed too much for the owners here.
positive:
Excellent Food Throughout the Day.
Guests were consistently happy with the food they were served at the Royal George, calling the breakfast delicious and hearty, with the traditional Scottish fare served for lunch and dinner receiving equally glowing reviews. A hi-light dining experience for many also included the hotel's high teas, with cream cakes "to die for." Even the shortbread served with coffee got a mention.

Time for an Update.
Although guests enjoyed learning of the hotel's more than 200 year-old history, reflected in period features of the building, many found the decor to be flat and tired. Several visitors thought the hotel could use refurbishing, especially given the steep price for a night's stay .
negative:
Trouble Finding a Parking Spot.
Although the hotel's website advertises free parking, many guests were disappointed to learn that the lot was tiny, offering limited spaces. Still, many of these guests were happy with the hotel's wonderful central location, with so much of Perth just a stroll away.

A Variety of Noises.
Many guests had their peace and quiet disturbed as a result of the old building's thin walls and doors, as well as single glazed windows. Some guests staying two floors up complained they could hear noise from the bar on the main floor late into the night, with others complaining of hearing every foot step of passersby outside.
