About The Local Culture Hostel & Cafe

Sleep in a lovely, one-of-a-kind milieu in an old crown granary built in 1851. Located less than a kilometer away from the main pedestrian street, the Local Culture Hostel & Cafe is right next to the atmospheric University Campus and the Lounaispuisto park, in the bohemian Upper town of Jyväskylä. Our three storey main building has 8 unique theme rooms and 28 beds in total. You can stay in a comfy 2 bed private rooms or in a nice 4-6 bed dorm. We have shared shower and toilet facilities, a well-equipped guest kitchen and a cozy living room. Rooms are located on the 2nd floor, café and shared facilities on the 1st floor and our shower and toilet facilities are in the peace and quiet of the basement floor. Our cafe offers Finnish breakfast in addition to local café treats. The selection of our café is solely based on vegetarian and vegan options and we always aim to bring you the best products our city and region has to offer! We also arrange a wide range of culture events in our café. Hostel guests and locals are both welcome to our café!
