Positive Reviews
positive:
Comfortable, "homey" suites...
Most guests seem to quickly feel "at home" in the suites, regularly describing the rooms as clean and spacious, with well equipped kitchens and lots of channels to choose from on the large televisions. Travellers love the free laundry machines, too, and note that some are conveniently located right next to the (also well equipped) gym.
positive:
High marks for hospitality...
The front desk personnel have earned many rave reviews for their personable and professionalcustomer service. Many guests comment on their smiling faces, and like the flyers they hand out at check-in, outlining the hotel's amenities and suggestions for places to visit in the area. The hot breakfast and evening social hours get high marks for quality and variety, too.
positive:
Shop 'til you drop...
Though the surrounding neighbourhood is generally described as industrial, guests generally find its convenience makes up for the lack of scenery. There's a decent pub within walking distance, and fewer than ten minutes stand between shoppers and the West Edmonton Mall (also a top destination for families, due to the amusement park attached.)
Negative Reviews
negative:
Walking on popcorn...
Kids of all ages love the popcorn maker in the lobby...but some dislike the inevitable trail of kernels down the hallway. Some guests have also been annoyed by the pitter patter of little feet overhead, though the soundproofing seems to be pretty good otherwise.
negative:
Must love dogs...
Guests with allergies (or aversions) should note that there are no longer any pet-free rooms or floors in the hotel, though the additional fee is to cover deep cleaning after a pet's stay.
negative:
Make your own bed...
There are no housekeeping services on weekends, and though many guests find the rooms very clean, some unfortunate oversights have been reported.
