positive:
Fantastic location overlooking the harbour.
Royal enjoys a prime waterfront spot in Stornoway, overlooking the harbour and close to the spattering of pubs and restaurants that this town has to offer. You'll also be staying in a building that dates back to the 1840s.

The staff go out of their way to help you.
You'll receive a warm Scottish welcome when you arrive at this hotel. The people working here do everything they can to make sure you have a comfortable stay and no request is too big or small.
positive:
Delicious food served in the hotel restaurant.
You only have to walk downstairs to sample some of the finest meals that the town of Stornoway has to offer. All dishes are created using fresh local ingredients and the seafood has to be one of the highlights on the menu.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The free Wi-Fi here is a bit hit or miss.
Staying connected to the internet can be a bit of an issue at this hotel. They do provide free Wi-Fi but it is a little temperamental, sometimes you can connect and other times you cannot.
negative:
The road outside can get a bit busy and noisy.
This hotel is on the main road that enters Stornoway so it does get quite busy with traffic and pedestrians. If you have a room that faces out of the front of the hotel you could be disturbed by outside noise.
negative:
Ensuite bathrooms need to be updated.
The ensuite bathrooms at Royal are getting old and inefficient. The shower water pressure is often weak, and it can take a long time before hot water starts coming out of the taps. A refit of all the bathrooms and plumbing is sorely needed.
