Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location in the heart of Como
Como is a small town, and the Plinius is at the very heart of it. Guests loved the convenience of simply being able to stroll to any café or restaurant they wished to visit. Also mentioned as just a quick walk away was the small harbour, where ferries to other spots on Lake Como can be boarded.
positive:
Excellent value for money
The question of value for money kept on being raised, with the overwhelming majority saying that they received excellent value for money at Plinius. The areas around Lake Como are of course known to be a bit expensive, so guests seemed relieved to be able to get a room at a good rate.
positive:
Decent breakfast
While guests weren't falling over themselves to say how great the breakfast was, most did seem to think that it was a more than good enough start to the day. The cappuccino was especially praised.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms too small for many
Quite a number of guests were unpleasantly surprised by how small their room was. Of course prime real estate is expensive, but guests were still expecting a room a bit bigger.
negative:
No tea or coffee making facilities in their rooms
While guests conceded that they were in Italy, were the café culture and quality of the coffee is beyond dispute, they would still have liked the simple convenience of making themselves a hot beverage in their own room with no fuss.
negative:
Parking very expensive
Several motorists reported that the on-site parking, if even available, was very expensive. There was an undercover garage nearby, but that was no cheaper than the hotel's own parking.
