Everything you need is here, shops, restaurants … there's even a pharmacy within walking distance. The gate to Lackland Air Force Base is just outside the hotel. How convenient is that! There are many fast food restaurants within walking distance, plus a Walgreen's. Pizza Hut has a delivery service and there is a great Mexican restaurant opposite the hotel
Rooms are quite spacious and maintained and decorated to a high standard. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly and daily and the complimentary breakfast is streets ahead of what you might normally expect.
Everyone is very pleasant, friendly and efficient. There's no evidence of those old enemies, damp and mold, in these rooms. Rooms include masses of comfy pillows and noise issues from other rooms is minimal.
There are people lounging around the lobby area who obviously (*hopefully!) aren't staying here. Nobody seems to be concerned though. The price is good but it would be better to pay a bit more for some upgraded furniture … minus the current graffiti! Customer service is disarmingly leisurely.
Everything is very dated and the only saving grace is the proximity to the base; a prime source of business. Having said that; chat to other guests + it seems that rooms fall into two categories. Brilliant and spotlessly clean ... or drab and old.
There's a strange smell, the roof leaks and the towels etc; don't inspire any confidence.
