Positive Reviews
positive:
A real 'home from home' atmosphere.
Because TownePlace attracts many long stay guests, all the facilities are here to encourage you to put down roots and feel completely at home. The kitchen is good with plenty of equipment, utensils and appliances and depending on requirements, there are either one or two bedrooms.
positive:
A step up from the usual hotel.
Whether staying for a few days or a few months, the apartment type facilities here make it a very attractive alternative to a cramped hotel room. The suites are attractively decorated and well maintained and cleaned.
positive:
Quiet location.
Not much in terms of noise here, so it makes for a great base for travelling businessmen with work to do and for those with business at the university, about a mile away.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Animal magic vanishes.
We all love pets - well most do - and the theory of bringing them to a hotel with you can't be faulted. In practice, though, there can be hairs all over the place and those dogs, unsure of their new surroundings, 'shout' at each other day and night. In fairness to the pooches concerned, the noise resulting from unsupervised kids running wild, up and down the corridors, is somewhat worse!
negative:
Breathe in for a vertical breakfast.
If you go for the free breakfast, you must expect to eat it standing up. The dining area is too small for the capacity of the hotel. It gets very overcrowded and if you get one of the few tables, it feels like a lottery win!
negative:
Savannah and distant horizons
Downtown Savannah is easily 20 minutes away by car. You can't just wander out of the hotel to explore it.
