Hotel Sidi Harazem (Fès, Morocco)

Staff were found to be exceedingly friendly at Sidi Harazem. For many guests, the kind faces and caring attitudes of staff were the favourite part of their visit.

Even though this hotel is relatively far from Fes, many guests appreciated being removed from the smog and traffic of the big city. Guests noticed a difference in air quality here, and could breathe in the pure, clean air while gazing out at the nearby mountains. Not a bad way to unwind for a few days.

Guests were happy with their decision to stay at this hotel, based on the traditional vibe, and older, authentic feel of the building. Far from a slick mega-resort, guests felt like they were getting a taste of the real Morocco.

Some guests were surprised to see that dated decor didn't look like pictures seen on the hotel website. Guests encountered a number of problems with rooms and the surrounding facilities, such as worn door frames, peeling plaster, and a crumbling pool perimeter. Many felt that renovations were in order if they were to stay again.

Several guests felt a bit stranded with bus service ending in the evening. Without a car, the only method of transportation was a sometimes expensive taxi, with drivers that didn't always want to travel out of the city.

This hotel is a busy stop over for tour groups and others travelling further afield. As such, some guests experienced slow service, and a decrease in housekeeping standards due to the hotel being understaffed.
