The hidden treasure of the Hotel Sanpi though is its enchanting interior courtyard - ideal for a quiet drink or simply to soak up the peaceful atmosphere. Guests can also relax in the antique-adorned lobby or try out the gym. Paid parking is available.
The hotel provides an extensive buffet breakfast and there are many cosmopolitan restaurants around.
Between the Porta Venezia and Milano Centrale railway stations and near the metro, the Duomo de Milano cathedral and La Scala opera house are around two kilometres away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Friendly atmosphere
The hotel's staff help create a warm and family atmosphere. They are not only friendly and helpful but highly efficient too. The clean and comfortable rooms, with original furnishings can also help generate a feeling of wellbeing. However, the favourite part of the hotel for many guests is the beautiful interior courtyard and garden. Guests like sitting out there in the calm ambiance with perhaps a drink in hand.
positive:
Nice extensive breakfast
Guests appreciate the delicious, large and wide-ranging breakfast they are served up each morning. There is a nice and varied mix of hot and cold dishes.
positive:
Good accessibility
Guests find getting around Milan and beyond couldn't be simpler. You are near main railway stations and a short walk to a metro station bringing you in to the centre of Milan.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noisy surroundings
Typical of areas around railway stations, the surrounding neighbourhood isn't the nicest part of town. Guests often feel a little uneasy walking around the streets, with people loitering around. The area is also very busy and guests, especially those with street facing rooms, are frequently disturbed by the noise at night.
negative:
Cramped breakfast room
A nice buffet breakfast is for many a great way to start the day. However, the dark and small breakfast room isn't an invigorating environment for many guests. There is no natural light and when the hotel is busy it can feel terribly tight.
negative:
Small bedrooms
Guests often find the rooms a bit on the small side for their liking. For this reason, amongst others, many don't consider the hotel to be worthy of a four star rating.
