River Oaks is a three-star hotel offering relaxed accommodations for a family/golf getaway. It is located adjacent to River Oaks Golf Plantation. There are one to two bedroom condos featuring casual décor and furnishings. All of them also have TVs with cable channels, washers/dryers, private balconies en suite bathrooms. Some offer fairway views. Kitchens are equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, stovetops and dishwashers. River Oaks is a smoke-free property. It has an indoor as well as a seasonal outdoor pool. Other amenities include tennis courts, hot tubs, a 27-hole golf course, and grilling areas. There’s free parking on-site and complimentary Wi-Fi in common areas. A resort fee is charged. There is a breakfast buffet (fee). Many restaurants are in close proximity to the hotel. Myrtle Beach International Airport is around four miles from the hotel and Broadway at the Beach and Myrtle Waves are also within six miles.
The area around the hotel is magnificent and has beautiful views. The surrounding grounds have golfing next door with a 27-hole golf course. Guests said that it was a peaceful and quiet place with all the amenities available within the hotel itself.
The hotel has one or two bedroom condos with the bigger ones having two full bathrooms. The condos are very comfortable, clean and some offer fairway views. There are full kitchens featuring all the necessary cookware and plus the condos come with private balconies. Guests thus enjoyed their stay here.
Guests were pleased with the fact that, there was an indoor pool as well, in addition to the outdoor pool. They said that the pool was clean and hygienic. Plus, it was an added advantage when the weather wasn’t conducive to use the outdoor pool, the indoor one was easy to access.
Guests said that the staff in the hotel was not really cooperative and were rude at times. They never replied to guests queries softly, and more so were not interested in assisting them.
The hotel does levy a resort fee and as part of deposit the guests were overcharged for a huge amount, which was later credited into their account. Even during Check-out there were random fees charged, thus making the budget of the guests go overboard.
There were single beds in the condos instead of twin and/or king/queen beds. Plus, they were not at all comfortable and made it difficult for guests to relax.
