Positive Reviews
positive:
Well Placed.
The location of this hotel is ideal for visitors travelling into and out of Paris, as well as those exploring the city. It is within an easy walk of both the Gare de l'Est, and the Gare du Nord, with connection to the airports. Guests comment that the location is not noisy, and that what “liveliness” was occurring outside seemed to subside by 10:30 pm.
positive:
Clean and Honest.
The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and guests felt that it represents good value for money. Some visitors who left money and personal belongings in the room found that the staff are honest. However we would not advise travellers to carry out that sort of experiment.
positive:
Generous.
The breakfast was found to be be very good, whilst the complimentary toiletries were extensive, and there were free soft drink items in the room's fridge.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Infrastructure Problems.
Recently there seems to have been an ongoing problem with the air conditioning system in the hotel. Some guests who encountered non-functioning air conditioning in their room, and reported the problem, returned to the hotel after travelling for a month, and found that there was still a problem with it. The performance of the Wi-Fi connection was patchy, and a shower was held together with string: guests were not impressed with the hair dryer. A visitor from the USA found that the shower stall did not drain properly.
negative:
Too Dim.
A frequent criticism is that the lighting in the corridors is not bright enough, in some cases barely bright enough to read room numbers, and this gives guests a feeling of insecurity.
negative:
Updating Required.
The breakfast was described as being expensive. All in all the hotel is liked for its location, staff and cleanliness, but does seem to be in need of some elements of refurbishment.
