Situated on the outskirts of the city, right off the I-55, La Quinta Inn Chicago Willowbrook offers convenience and simple chain hotel style accommodation suitable for business and leisure travelers alike.
The rooms have a very simple décor, but are well equipped with “Smart” TV’s with plug and play functionality, ultra-fast Wi-Fi, coffee maker, work desk, telephone, hairdryer, iron and alarm clock.
While business people will likely appreciate the availability of meeting rooms, leisure travelers may be more impressed with the fitness center, where they can keep up with their workout routine, even while on vacation. There is plenty of free parking on-site.
La Quinta’s signature “Bright Side Breakfast”, consisting of waffles, pastries, muffins, cereals and fresh fruit, is served every morning. The Kerry Piper, an Irish-American Pub with great food and drink, is mere steps away.
While it is some way into downtown Chicago, at 22 miles, the route from the hotel is fairly straightforward.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Friendly an informative staff
It was hard to find a bad word written about the staff. On the contrary, guests sang their praises, saying they were not only incredibly friendly, but also ready and willing to give out excellent and useful local information and recommendations.
positive:
Excellent value for money
While guests did have a couple of issues with the hotel, most felt they got an excellent room rate for a decent, fairly clean hotel room within a reasonable distance of the Windy City. As a result they felt they received excellent value for money.
positive:
Excellent pet-friendly policies
Guests with pets in tow where very impressed by how welcoming the staff was to both them and their pets. They felt that the hotel was really set up to receive guests with pets, with good practical facilities. They also liked that they were not charged a cent more because their four legged friend was traveling with them.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Looking the worse for wear
This was perhaps the most common, and most serious, complaint. Many guests said that the building was not looking its best, either inside or out. There was said to be a lot of work to be done to get the facilities back up to a reasonable standard.
negative:
Difficult to find initially
Although right of the interstate guests said it was difficult to find initially. They explained that it was hidden behind some other commercial properties, so it was impossible to see the advertising hoardings from the road. Once found for the first time, however, no further problems were experienced.
negative:
Breakfast room a bit small
Several guests felt that, while they always managed to find a seat, the breakfast room was a bit small. When the hotel was busy it felt uncomfortably crowded.
