The Hotel: During the 60's and 70's Hornsjø Høyfjellshotell was one of Norway's largest of its kind and has kept some of its grandeur such as two dance floors and big panorama rooms with a view over Lake Hornsjøen. Hornsjø has a cosy vintage atmosphere and the kitchen is made for outdoor people with a good, healthy appetite! Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe open all year, but please book. All rooms are newly renovated and do NOT have TV as a part of the vintage concept of people coming to enjoy nature, relax and leave the stress and city life behind. (we do have a TV in the cafe, though) . For indoor leisure the hotel boasts of a swimming hall and saunas besides the ample common areas The main reason, though, for people coming to Hornsjø is the beautiful location in the middle of the protected area of Øyer Statsalmenning. Surrounded by undisturbed nature, it is possible to ski, hike, bike, fish, paddle in the lake, go birding or take a moose safari depending on the season. The cross country skiing is superb with an abundance of route choices and connected to other big skiing centers. Hafjell alpine ski center is located 18 km from Hornsjø for the downhill lovers. DNT Cottage no. 575 (The Norwegian Tourist Association) is an independent part of the buildings at Hornsjø. Here you find 10 quadruple rooms with own bathrooms, suited for hikers, skiers and school classes. Raulandsstua - 8 persons traditional cottage with own kitchen and bathroom, comfortable dining room and living room with fireplace. Access to the hotel's facilities. Welcome to Hornsjø!
