Lovely farmhouse with period features
The farmhouse is more than 400 years old, so inevitably a bit quirky and uneven. Guests, however, found this very charming and felt a bit of a sense of the history of the place when staying there.
Set in the charming Suffolk countryside, High House Farm Brewery offers comfortable accommodation on an extensive working farm. There are two rooms available at High House Farm Brewery, a double room and a family room. Both have en-suite facilities and also TV and tea/coffee station, so you can make yourself a cuppa before settling down to EastEnders. There is a cosy guest parlour, complete with roaring fire in winter, where guests are welcome to relax at any time. Guests also have access to the whole farm and extensive woodland. A full English breakfast is served every day, but there are also other options available, and the hosts are happy to cater to those with special diets if given advance warning. The immediate attraction is perhaps the farm itself, but for those travelling further afield Ipswich is 26 miles to the south, while Thorpness and the Suffolk Coast Nature Reserve are 13 miles away.

Most guests when commenting praise the hosts as being very warm and welcoming. The welcome tea and cake is especially enjoyed, but more generally the hosts were described as friendly and generous, both with their time and occasionally some of the farms produce.
Some guests mention that they booked the accommodation on account of its pet-friendly status and were not disappointed. The owners' own dog was said to be friendly, and their own dogs seemed to have a ball in the garden and on the farmlands beyond.
While there are very few negative reviews, it was mentioned that the staircase to the double room is an exceptionally steep spiral one. It doesn't seem as if it would be suitable for guests with any sort of mobility issue at all.
There is some indication that requesting to have breakfast late will not be well received. Late risers should check whether this will be OK.
While the remoteness is undoubtedly a positive feature to many, it should be noted that there are no dining or other amenities in walking distance. Guests will have to drive to the nearest village for these.
