There's a supermarket across the road - very handy - and it's not altogether bad to be away from the busy city centre. *You can travel there in style with the American limousine arrangement that is bookable at the hotel.
The centre is about seven miles away - and it's good not to be in that noisy environment. You can always travel there by taxi or save some money and study the Red Bus timetable. It stops near the hotel but, if returning late at night, you will need that taxi.
The hotel falls down in silly areas that could be rectified with a little effort. In an establishment that charges a not insignificant price for a generally high standard of accommodation, it's reasonable to question why they don't supply free drinking water. Tap water isn't classed as drinking water … but they wash glasses in it and where does the ice for drinks come from? Very strange and short-sighted.
The hotel bars can get very noisy as the night draws on. The initial attraction of live music in the Lobby and Pool bars is a blessing in disguise.
It is grossly unfair to expect high tariff paying guests to queue for meals. The restaurant is small, compared with the hotel capacity, so this is a regular and irritating occurrence. The food itself is very good. Overall, the hotel is OK … but no cigar!
