About Hôtel De Mougins
Set in lovely and well tended gardens, de Mougins offers guests a tranquil and sophisticated Provencal retreat just five miles from Cannes.
The 51 rooms are housed in four buildings located throughout the exquisite gardens, and feature traditional Provencal décor. Each room features air conditioning, minibar, satellite TV, in-room safe, hairdryer, telephone and free in-room Wi-Fi.
There is a gorgeous pool terrace overlooking the gardens, where guests can relax with a drink, or perhaps the latest summer blockbuster.
Le Jardin Restaurant offers seasonal dishes using the very best Provencal dishes, and serves guests on the terrace in fine weather, or the chic dining room at other times.
While Cannes and the coast are nearby, Mougins itself has much to offer, and is known for its Museum of Classical Art, just a mile from de Mougins, and also the many private galleries dotted around the town.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Exquisitely beautiful gardens
The gardens were perhaps guest's favourite part of the hotel. They were described as simply immaculate, and seemed to have created an atmosphere of calmness and tranquillity that had perhaps been the goal of those coming to this part of Provence.
positive:
Spectacular food in the restaurant
While the service did come under fire occasionally, it was very hard to find anything but very positive impressions of the food itself. It was described as everything the guests expected from a restaurant based in a town with such a strong culinary tradition.
positive:
Friendly and helpful staff
Guests were almost unanimous in their praise of the hotel's staff. They were described as very friendly, and also helpful when it came to imparting local knowledge.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very poor Wi-Fi
There were a very, very large number of complaints concerning the Wi-Fi. Usually the problem was that it was not working at all, despite a visible router in the room, and even when it did connect it was said to be much too slow.
negative:
Breakfast a bit of a scrum
While the food served at the restaurant received rave reviews, including at breakfast, several guests reported a bit of a chaotic atmosphere prevailing in the mornings. It seems that there were either not enough staff members, or they were not working well together, causing many delays that annoyed guests.
negative:
Low-watt light bulbs
While not brought up all that often, it was mentioned that the light bulbs used in the hotel were of exceptionally low wattage. While this may have been ideal for romantic scenarios, it also created a dim environment in places that really needed more light.
