The four-star Château Tilques is located on the outskirts of Tilques northwest of Saint-Omer. The château was built at the end of the 19th century in neo-Flemish style and is surrounded by five hectares of grounds. It has 53 rooms divided between the main building and the Pavillon du Parc. Room types are Deluxe, Superior, Classic, Privilege and Mezzanine, the last two types being in the Pavillon. Rooms are individually designed, with the château rooms reflecting the period of the building, and the Pavillon rooms more modern in style and with balconies overlooking the grounds. All rooms have en-suite facilities, satellite TV, wifi, phone, desk and hairdryer. The restaurant Le Vert Mesnil is separate from the main building in the original coach-house. There is a bar and outside terrace, and room service is available. The extensive grounds have tennis courts and a fitness trail and bikes can be hired in the hotel. Boat trips through the nearby marshes can be arranged and nearby Saint-Omer has a golf course. Calais and the Channel coast are about 30 minutes away along the A26.
