About Coral Beach 2 Bungalow
Consisting of just four villas, and on an idyllic island near Bali on which motorised transport is forbidden, the Gili Villas offers guests a complete luxury tropical escape.
The exquisite Bali-inspired villa’s flow seamlessly from indoor to outdoor, and feature their own private pools, one or two separate bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, flat screen TV’s with satellite channels, iPod docks, in-room safes and free in-room Wi-Fi .
The villas are very self-contained and there are few public facilities. Staff, however, can arrange tours, restaurant delivery, or offer local advice.
The hotel staff come in and cook you breakfast in your kitchen every morning. Those not self catering for the other meals should ask for recommendations for the best local dining spots.
Bali can be reached quickly via public speedboat services, but the island is perhaps a more exclusive spot guests have the good fortune to be able to explore. The nearest beach is barely 100 yards from Coral Beach 2 Bungalow.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Not wanting to leave the villa
This was mentioned more than just once or twice. Guests found the atmosphere at the villas so tranquil and peaceful that they developed a pleasant sort of inertia, and felt perfectly at peace just lazing around the pool in one of the daybeds.
positive:
Great location for beach and restaurants
Although the villas themselves are described as the perfect peaceful retreat, guests also mention that the beach, with its strip of restaurants and bars is just a few hundred yards away. If they felt like any sort of street, or rather beach, life they didn't need to travel far.
positive:
The private pools
While guests of course realised when booking that they would be getting a private pool, it seems that when it actually came to experiencing it first hand they were still impressed since it was even larger than they had expected.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast a bit basic
While guests certainly appreciated the breakfast, most did consider it a bit basic, containing only a limited number of options.
negative:
No real public amenities
The villas are very self-contained. Even your breakfast is made and served in your villa. One or two guests did miss the camaraderie of being in a big group around a pool, or eating breakfast in a common dining room. These villas would suit a couple or small group really looking for a private holiday, away from the crowds.
negative:
Reception staff maybe a little disengaged
While not a very common complaint, several guests do nonetheless mention that reception staff did not really do much besides book them in and give them the keys. Many got no explanation of how the appliances in the villa operated, for example.
