About Castle At Edgehill

The Castle at Edgehill is an 18th-century countryside pub with accommodation. Situated on the summit of Edgehill, famous for its breath-taking views of the battlefield of the Battle of Edgehill below, the pub can serve as dining for a special occasion with family, a romantic meal watching the sun go down or a bite to eat whilst walking the centenary way. The building itself was built 100 years after the Battle which took place on the 23rd October 1642 by Sanderson Miller and is said to mark the spot where King Charles raised the standard before the two sides clashed. The tower first became a pub in 1822 when it was sold by a descendant of Millers and then was acquired by Hook Norton Brewery in 1922. The Castle offers four en-suite letting rooms, two of which; 'Rupert' and 'Kings' are situated in the main tower each offering a four-poster bed and stunning views across the countryside. The smaller tower hosts two other letting rooms; 'Verney' and 'Astley' with Astley offering a double bed plus a single bed so can be used as a family room. All the rooms include digital televisions, en-suite shower rooms, tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridges and free WiFi.
