Many guests staying for medical reasons were especially impressed with the staff's compassion and willingness to go out of their way to lend a hand. Some described it as feeling like they were staying with family. Seemingly, many guests visiting for The Mayo Clinic choose to stay here.

Several guests were impressed with their spotlessly clean and quiet rooms, which were also found to have comfy beds with quality linens, and nice bathrooms with plenty of towels. Some of the rooms even have views over the mountains in the distance.

While free, some guests were less than impressed with the breakfast fare here, described as being comprised of cheap juices, cold cereal and breads, boiled eggs, and a waffle maker. Still others found the offerings perfectly acceptable, given the hotel's amazing nightly rate.
