Positive Reviews
positive:
Clean rooms with rustic charm.
Rooms at Lamphey Park are spacious and spotlessly clean. The furnishings are all wood and quite elegant, especially the ornate four poster beds. The wood furnishings along with the wood flooring give the accommodation a warm, rustic charm which really helps to reinforce the getaway-to-the-country feel. Bathrooms, either en-suite or private are clean, spacious and well-maintained.
positive:
Personal service and attention.
Run by a husband and wife team and minimal staff, service is intimate and very friendly. The informal atmosphere and warm, friendly hospitality makes for a more personal experience, not something found in conventional, chain-style hotels.
positive:
Great family-friendly atmosphere.
Lamphey Park is really all about family holiday fun with plenty of activities for kids and adults to enjoy. The bed & breakfast is set on eight acres of rural land and is populated with a range of farm animals from horses and goats to ducks and chickens. The owners also run a free shuttle to the nearest town for shopping and dining.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rustic accommodation may not be for everyone.
Lamphey Park is run in a very informal way, add to this the long and rough drive up to the property and the slightly dilapidated Georgian building, and what may appeal to some as Bohemian rustic charm will not appeal to others who may prefer something a bit more modern or hi-tech.
negative:
Not all accommodation includes breakfast.
It is important to note that not all accommodation options include breakfast as this is dependent on the type of accommodation booked. Rooms within the main house come with breakfast but apartments have their own kitchenettes and are self-catering only.
negative:
Wi-Fi can be tricky.
Although free Wi-Fi is advertised in rooms as well as throughout the property the signal can be quite tricky and somewhat unreliable.
