Positive Reviews
positive:
Amazing central location
Guests would be hard pressed to find a better location. It is described as just a short walk to the Star Ferry, and even closer to a metro station, while Central, just across the straight may be more prestigious, guts found no shortage of facilities in Victoria, and they could easily get to central by metro anyway.
positive:
Very clean rooms
Though guests definitely found severe faults with the rooms, lack of cleanliness was not one of them. Again and again guests mentioned that their room was exceptionally clean on check-in.
positive:
Very low room-rate for the location
Although they did identify many problems, many guests went on to say that considering the low price and central location they believed they got a very good deal. Whether the price was worth the hassles was a personal matter that could go either way.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Exceptionally tiny rooms
This was by far the most common, and most vociferously voiced, negative view. The rooms are described as being unbelievably small, with not even enough space to sleep, let alone do anything else. It was also said that most do not have windows, so claustrophobic guests should definitely take note.
negative:
Street sellers at the entrance
Many guests mentioned that they were bombarded by street sellers selling knickknacks, or some sort of service or food, at the entrance to the property. It was relentless and made many feel very uncomfortable, having to pass them every time they walked in or out.
negative:
Very poor sound insulation
Perhaps due to the low prices, or due to some other reason, the property seems to have exceptionally bad sound insulation installed between the rooms. Guests speak of being able to hear everything from the adjacent rooms, and perhaps even rooms further away.
