Positive Reviews
positive:
A warm welcome
Guests always feel welcome when arriving at Doubletree by Hilton Dallas-Campbell Center; warm cookies are given on arrival and there is a constant supply of chilled flavoured-water in the lobby too. The staff attitudes are good, and most are friendly and helpful.
positive:
Excellent facilities
The hotel should meet all your needs while away; rooms are spacious and well equipped with comfortable beds, high quality linen and quiet, efficient air conditioning. There are also several reasonably-priced dining options for guests on-site, and a small gym.
positive:
Ideally located for onward travel
Getting to and from the hotel shouldn't create any problems- the highway is nearby, as is the DART light rail. Guests will find themselves an easy commute from the city, university and the commercial center; and many make use of the hotel's free shuttle.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Additional charges
One frequent criticism is that, while reasonably priced on a whole, several items are paid-for. Wi-Fi is one such item- and a daily fee is charged. Guests have mentioned that they feel the breakfast overpriced also, and essential items such as toothbrush and toothpaste are expensive.
negative:
An entire smoking floor
The 10th floor is the smoking floor at the hotel and, as such, the floors immediately above and below can suffer from travelling odours on occasion. For non-smokers who prefer to be completely away from smoky smells, it may be best to request a room on a low floor.
negative:
Beginning to look dated
The hotel is starting to look a little rough around the edges, with aged furnishings, a musty odour in some areas, marked carpets and thin walls. While adequate for most, it could benefit from some modernisation.
