Positive Reviews
positive:
Free shuttle bus is a godsend
The shuttle bus makes the difference for a lot of the guests. It brings Florence's attractions and railway station, where it drops guests off, within easy reach. It also avoids parking problems or having to find a bus. Being out of town and with free and plentiful parking, this service makes the Conference Florentia an attractive proposition, especially as the rates are less than in the town centre.
positive:
Spacious rooms
In general, guests like the spacious and comfortable nature of the rooms. Most find them clean and some comment on the nice views they have.
positive:
Rural yet accessible location
Right next to the A1 motorway is an ideal spot for guests arriving by car, who don't want to have problems parking or finding their way around the town centre. Although it is near the motorway it is still in a relatively rural setting, with vineyards around.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit neglected?
The hotel used to be part of the Sheraton chain. This leads many guests to have inflated expectations and they are often left disappointed. There is a feeling that the hotel has been neglected, even abandoned since Sheraton left town. Lots of guests feel it is dated, dark and even creepy. Reports of stained carpets and stagnating, unused pools don't help this reputation.
negative:
Wi-Fi only accessible in the lobby
Although free Wi-Fi is supposedly available in the rooms, many guests complain that it is only available in the lobby area. And that is limited to 1 hour. Above that many guests have reported having to pay high fees for access.
negative:
Hot and stuffy rooms
A few guests feel that rooms are hot and stuffy on arrival. Being forced to open windows then invites another problem - mosquitos.
