About Hortensia
Centrally located Hortensia is a family-run guest house surrounded by war history, steps from the walking paths of the Kasteelgracht River.
Five spacious, non-smoking rooms have an en-suite bathroom with shower, and a TV. Larger rooms have a work desk, and all accommodation has plenty of natural light.
Ample free parking is available in the surrounding streets, and bicycles can be stored in the garage. Packages can be arranged which include things like discounted museum passes, battlefields tours, bicycle rental and cycling maps, plus a packed lunch.
Several restaurants can be found within walking distance, such as the neighbouring Capella restaurant for typical Belgian cuisine, or treat yourself to De Fonderie, a modern brasserie with a top-rated menu.
The beautiful town of Zonnebeke, full of Great War reminders, is a ten-minute drive from Hortensia. Menin Gate and the Flanders Fields Museum are each accessible in ten minutes on foot.

Guests liked that they could take a variety of routes to get to the main attractions in town, a short stroll away. It was about seven minutes on foot to the main square, and guests were happy to discover that Hortensia is very close to the Ramparts War Graves Commission Cemetery.
