The Açucena house was built during the roaring 20s and it has been in the same family since the mid 70s. Extensive restoration works took place recently to refurbish and update this beautiful house to modern day standards keeping all the stucco and wood works for your delight. This property features stunning views of Sintra's mountain range, a world heritage site, and the countryside down to the atlantic coast, just 11 km/7 miles away. The location of Casa Açucena, in a quiet street with parking, at a mere 10 min walk from the train station and 20 min away from the old city centre makes this B&B an ideal base to discover the charming Lisbon and all the palaces, castles and nature Sintra is renowned for. The vintage furniture was carefully restored, new hotel standard beds and linens were added for improved comfort and all the bathroom facilities were updated. You can enjoy the complementary breakfast, carefully prepared including freshly pressed orange juice, seasonal fruit, home make cakes, jams and the famous Iberian hams served inside the main room by the fireplace in the wintery days or by the pool facing south and the mountain range during the long summers in Portugal.
