Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location for exploring
Amiral Palace is virtually in the middle of Old Istanbul where the Hagia Sophia Mosque, museums and markets are within sight or walking distance. There are also a number of interesting shops and restaurants nearby as well as the train station being a few minutes away as well.
positive:
Stunning, unique restaurant and lounge
The hotel offers guests panoramic views over the surroundings and the ocean from the rooftop terrace bar and restaurant where you can enjoy lunch, dinner or an afternoon drink. The breakfast room is vibrant not only because if the light filtering in from above and around the sides, but the tiled floors and painted windows as well.
positive:
Parking available
There is public parking available to guests for free on the street surrounding the hotel as well as at a nearby location with no reservations necessary. You should be well catered for if you drive over or decide to book a car to hire through the hotel, for example.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Hilly area may make walking around hard
The hotel is up a slope which may be difficult for some to manage if you hope to roam around on foot to the various restaurants and attractions. There are however cabs available and the hotel can assist in arranging car hire options so you stay mobile.
negative:
Some street noise
Although it is in a relatively quiet street, the hotel's guest rooms and suites- particularly those on the lower floors- may experience some noise ingress from outside which can be avoided by requesting a room on a higher floor if available.
negative:
Quite small all around
The building itself has four storeys and not a large amount of rooms or facilities eg. Activity rooms, swimming pool, etc. Some bedrooms are a little tight on space with big bags as well, however this is typical of hotels in the area.
